We’re bringing back the baddest talent show in the land is back for round three this year, and we want YOU to rock with US. For one week, you’ll work closely with professional musicians who know what it takes to play gigs for a living. At the end of the week, it’s time to strut your stuff in a live performance.

No canoes…no arts and crafts….just straight up rock! Have you always wanted to be part of a rock band, but it never seemed to happen? Well…here’s your chance to make rock history! The Midcoast School of Music is proud to present their third annualrock camp; the ultimate talent show! Our camp is designed to give students the opportunity they’ve always wanted; to play music with other musicians!

Portland Campus: Monday August 13th – Friday August 17th, 2012

Sessions run daily from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. In the class setting, students will be exposed to new, applicable techniques on their instruments.  All of our classes will be taught by reputable, “working” musicians.  Classes will be set up as semi-private lessons and the information given will be instrument specific. Students will then be split up into their own bands, led by our qualified instructors.  This makes for the perfect environment for the aspiring musician. On the last day, WE ROCK with a final concert featuring all the bands, along with a few surprise guests!

Thank you very much for supporting our school.  We look forward to meeting and educating your children.  Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions or concerns.

Before we begin, we would like to inform you that we will now request our students and instructors to use hearing protection during all rehearsals and performances.  We care about our students and recognize that long term unprotected exposure to loud volumes can be harmful.  Please take a moment and read the following excerpt from:

www.hearnet.com/at_risk/risk_at_risk.shtml

We will be providing foam earplugs for the students during the ensemble for free.  We would encourage you to pre-order a pair of Sonic 11 ear plugs through the music school for $12.00.  This earplug model is popular with musicians because of a special filter that lets the listener hear music at a safe level without sacrificing quality.  They are a very good alternative to the expensive, “musician” earplugs you would purchase at the audiologist.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to give us a call at 207.229.2738!
