The Police & Sting

The Midcoast School of Music is pleased to announce our Police Ensemble!  The Police gained global popularity in the late 1970s and are generally regarded as one of the first New Wave groups to achieve mainstream success, playing a style of rock that was influenced by jazz, punk, and reggae music.  To date they have sold more than 50 million albums worldwide.  Among their best known songs are “Roxanne”, “Message in a Bottle”, “Every Little Thing She Does is Magic”, “Spirits in the Material World”, “King of Pain”, and “Don’t Stand So Close to Me”.  In March 2003, The Police were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.  They were the world’s highest-earning musicians in 2008 when they embarked on a reunion tour.  It would be a complete understatement to say that the Police were one of the greatest rock bands to ever take the stage.  Now it’s your turn to step into their shoes!
