Ball at the Mall in the Fall!!

Midcoast School of Music took the Maine Mall by storm Saturday with nearly four hours of great Music! Our groups drew a very large crowd of onlookers as they performed their sets…

Things kicked off with Rock of Ages playing a triumvirate of songs including two Queen classics and Michael Jackson’s ‘Beat It’.

Next, our Steely Dan ensemble took its set to the people for the last time. More than a few heads were turned by this impressive group when they played great music like ‘Aja’, ‘Rikki Don’t Lose That Number’ and ‘Reelin’ in the Years’.

The Midcoast School of Music All-Star Ensemble took the Stage of after a Summer hiatus. Needles to say they picked up where they left off playing an extra long set of tunes to delight the audience. From  a moving rendition of Adele’s ‘Skyfall’ to Amy Winehouse’s ‘Rehab’ and Stevie Wonder’s ‘Superstition’ The All-Stars proved to be a crowd favorite!

Our Coldplay ensemble followed changing gears and playing some British flavored Pop/Rock music for the listening pleasure of Mall patrons. ‘Viva La Vida’, ‘The Scientist’, ‘Clocks’, ‘Fix You’ and ‘Paradise’ all drew cheers from the assembled masses.

Last up, the Bob Marley Ensemble took its final bow and ended the show with an upbeat and uplifting set. ‘One Love’, ‘Three Little Birds’ and ‘Get Up! StandUp!’ met with the excitement and approval of listeners as the show drew to a close.

We would like to thank all those who came out to support Midcoast School of Music and its ensemble participants!

A special thanks to our students who worked tirelessly this Summer and made each and every performance (All FOUR!!!) exciting, memorable and most of all a pleasure to attend. We hope to see you all again soon!!!!
